Details
Understanding proper fire alarm system design is a critical job function for anyone
involved in fire alarm systems work. A proper understanding of the fire alarm codes
helps the fire alarm professional to achieve the desired life safety results by designing
and installing code-compliant fire alarm systems.
NTC’s Fire Alarm System Design Workshop is intended for fire alarm professionals
designing fire alarm systems. This course discusses the proper application of the fire
alarm codes and reinforces the student’s ability to properly apply the codes. In addition,
students attending this course will develop a stronger understanding of fire alarm
systems, including the requirements of NFPA 72 (National Fire Alarm Code) and the IBC
(International Building Code).
The course will also instruct students on system design using CAD-based design
software. Students will apply code requirements to sample fire alarm projects and
design the system using FireCAD® design software. The course is taught by experienced
NICET Certified instructors who will guide the students through the design process.
