NICET Fire Alarm Level I

Details
This course covers certification procedures and requirements, testing strategies, and NFPA code books.  Students attending this course will develop a strong understanding of fire alarm systems, including the requirements of NFPA 72 (National Fire Alarm Code) and the NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code).

NTC’s NICET Sprinkler Certification training is designed to make the certification and examination process simpler and easier.

Details
The class is focused on using the codes and references permitted in the specific exam covered by the class. Each class is specifically geared towards the knowledge, skills, and experience required to achieve that level of certification. The class is designed to build on knowledge and skills developed in the previous class, allowing the student to progress rapidly through the NICET certification process to achieve the certification goals.

This course is for individuals seeking NICET certification in Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance of Water-Based Systems for Level I. This course covers NFPA 25, the primary reference for the exams, in-depth, focusing on use and navigation.

This training is intended for fire alarm professionals involved in fire alarm systems. This program discusses the proper application of the fire alarm codes and reinforces the student’s ability to properly apply the codes. In addition, students participating in this program will develop a stronger understanding of fire alarm systems governing the installation, including the requirements of NFPA 72 (National Fire Alarm Code) and NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code).

Understanding proper inspection and testing of fire alarm systems is a critical job function for anyone involved in fire alarm systems work. Understanding NFPA 72 inspection and testing requirements helps the fire alarm professional verify the system’s proper, code-compliant performance.

Details
NTC’s Fire Alarm Inspection and Testing training is intended for fire alarm professionals inspecting and testing fire alarm systems. This course discusses proper methods of inspection and testing of fire alarm systems to ensure code compliance.   Students attending this course will better understand fire alarm inspection and testing requirements required by NFPA 72 (National Fire Alarm Code).

The training course will include a lecture on fire alarm inspection and testing requirements and a demonstration of the method for performing the work. The instructor will explain the requirements of NFPA 72 for performing the work and then demonstrate the work on functioning equipment.

Students can practice the inspection and testing skills learned on fire alarm systems supplied by NTC. Each student will be able to inspect and test these systems using equipment and test tools provided in the class.

Fire Alarm Design Workshop

This is a three-day workshop and will be the only class you can attend during the conference. It takes place across all three days of the conference.

Details

Understanding proper fire alarm system design is a critical job function for anyone involved in fire alarm systems work. A proper understanding of the fire alarm codes helps the fire alarm professional to achieve the desired life safety results by designing and installing code-compliant fire alarm systems.

NTC’s Fire Alarm System Design Workshop is intended for fire alarm professionals designing fire alarm systems. This course discusses the proper application of the fire alarm codes and reinforces the student’s ability to properly apply the codes. In addition, students attending this course will develop a stronger understanding of fire alarm systems, including the requirements of NFPA 72 (National Fire Alarm Code) and the IBC (International Building Code).

The course will also instruct students on system design using CAD-based design software. Students will apply code requirements to sample fire alarm projects and design the system using FireCAD® design software (note: 30 days access to FireCAD® is included with the class, but you can use any CAD-based software you prefer). The course is taught by experienced NICET Certified instructors who will guide the students through the design process.

This is a three-day workshop and will be the only class you can attend during the conference. It takes place across all three days of the conference.

Proper installation of ERCES (Emergency Responder Communication Enhancement Systems), also known as BDA or DAS, requires specific knowledge of building and fire code requirements. This 3-day hands-on class will guide individuals through the proper design, installation, and implementation of these systems to ensure maximum performance and code compliance. This training will focus on best practices for installation, testing, and commissioning of ERCES system equipment. This class will also help prepare students to pass the NICET IB-PSC (In-Building Public Safety Communications) exam.
